A Worthwhile Investment
from Bridget - Chicago, IL - 08/22/2010 15:20:34
After a year of many changes, I was feeling emotionally frayed and stumbled across Light's intro to Vedic Meditation session. After some internal debate about whether or not I should sign up for the actual class, I decided to bite the bullet and sign up.
It has been one of the best investments I've made to maintain positive mental health. You gain tools that help combat life's everyday stresses.
Light is a wonderful instructor that cares about the practice and how you are growing within it.
His class has given me an outlet for peace that I had not before. It's helped in the decisions that I make and the disposition I carry. You won't regret your choice to take Light's class, I promise!

An oasis of community and peace
from jennifer gooding - Los Angeles, CA - 08/18/2010 23:57:14
I attended my first intro to meditation course over eight years ago and did not feel a strong enough sense of resonance with that teacher to continue. I'm so grateful that I gave it another shot last year, attending Light's intro to meditation course. From the moment I met Light I felt a total connection and peace wash over me. He emanates a calm that is palpable, and that places you in a state that makes it easy to "let go".
But most of the reviews here are focused around the experience of meditation and how great Light is. What I want to focus on is not the obvious, primary benefit of the practice one develops from his course, but the added component of community.
Light leads many community gatherings and potluck dinners, offering a reprieve from the often vapid gatherings that permeate Los Angeles. Here, you are embraced into a vibrant, diverse, and loving community of meditators, whether they have been practicing for one week or one decade.
What Light provides is so vital. Los Angeles is the quintessential disparate town. We have many obstacles that make it difficult to build community here, combining intensely ambitious and "busy" schedules with urban sprawl make creating a sense of home and peace quite challenging. In this day and age, in big cities, any sense of community is comprised of shared interests and values, not proximity to neighbors or family.
Light offers an oasis of peace and community in a town that desperately needs both!
